Locally owned and operated, Shades was started in 2004 by Joe and Mary Jernigan to meet the underserved sunglass market of South Alabama. Over the years, we have expanded to four locations by providing a great selection of name brand sunglasses with professional sales associates whose goal is to find the right sunglasses for you - not what is best for us. Although the name implies that we only sell sunglasses, at Shades we also recognize that the people like apparel that matches their active lifestyle. Therefore, we also carry several popular clothing lines like Aftco, Guy Harvey, Vineyard Vines and many more.
